Welcome to Camp STEAMOLOGY – where learning meets adventure, powered by STEAM and fueled by fun! Presented by the Children’s Museum of Acadiana, our Summer Camp is a dynamic program designed to ignite young minds’ creativity, curiosity, and camaraderie.
 

Program Highlights:

  • Inspiring Learning: At Camp STEAMOLOGY, we believe in inspiring learning through hands-on experiences. Our campers delve into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) subjects, fostering deep and genuine understanding.
  • Creative Exploration: Children thrive when given the freedom to be creative. Our camp encourages out-of-the-box thinking in a safe, nurturing environment where imagination takes center stage.

Age Group: Geared for ages 6 to 10, our camp offers age-appropriate activities that engage and challenge young minds.

Camp Schedule: From 9 am to 4 pm, with early drop-off options starting at 8:30 am. For added convenience, after-camp care is available until 5:30 pm at $15 per day (advanced notice required).

  • 9:00 am – 9:45 am – Exhibit Exploration
  • 10:00 am – 11:30 am – Workshops and Acitivies
  • 11:30 am – 12:30 am – Lunch and Outdoor Play
  • 12:45 am – 3:00 pm – Workshops and Activites
  • 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Exhibit Exploration/ Pick-up

  • Friday – Innovator Session – Planetarium show at the Lafayette Science Museum – Ice Cream – Downtown Playground 

Limited Spots: With a maximum of 20 spots per session, we ensure a personalized and enriching experience. 

What to Bring: Campers must bring their lunch; we’ve covered the rest! CMA provides afternoon snacks and unlimited water to keep the energy flowing.

  • Campers will receive a water bottle, tote, notebook, admission to the science museum, and ice cream on Fridays, all included in the camp fees.

Pricing
Camp Fee: $200 per session for each child.

 

Returning Campers Discount: Thanks for being the ultimate camper! Returning campers receive 10% off camp fees. Please check your email for the discount code. 

 

Member Discount: Exclusive savings for museum members! Enjoy a reduced rate of $170 per session.

 

Late pick-up is $15 per day; advance notice is needed. 
Guidelines and Policies
Drop-Off Procedures

Camper drop-off begins at 8:30 AM in the Children’s Museum of Acadiana (CMA) lobby.  An adult will need to sign-in the camper each morning.

Pick-Up Procedures

Camp activities will end at 4:00 PM.  Campers must be picked-up by 4:00 PM. Each camper must be signed out by someone listed on the camp registration form (Parent/guardian, emergency contacts, or additional people listed on the form). After-camp care available until 5:30 pm; $15 per day (notice required)

Lunch and Snack 

The CMA does NOT provide lunch for campers. Campers will need to pack a lunch. Microwaves for heating food items are not available. Water will be available throughout the day, and a snack will be provided in the afternoon. Please be sure to list all food allergies on the camp registration form. Although we will accommodate children with allergies, you may send a snack with your camper if preferred.

Camp Attire

Campers should wear clothes they do not mind getting dirty! Closed-toe shoes are required and must be worn at all times. Leave These Items at home:       

  • Personal electronics and/or valuable items
  • Cell phone use during camp is NOT permitted – if you need to reach your child during camp for an emergency, please call the CMA at (337) 232-8500.
  • Candy and soda
  • Toys

If these items are brought to camp, the CMA is not responsible for their security!

Payments

At the time of purchase, a 50% deposit is required. Full payment is due three days before camp starts. For holiday camps, full payment is due at registration.

Refunds and Cancellation

 Refunds will only be issued on cancellation requests made one week prior to the start of your camp session.  A 20% processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. Sessions may be rescheduled with notice before the start of the session. Once camp has begun no refunds or rescheduling will occur, additionally there are no partial refunds for missed days in a session.

CMA Cancellations: If the minimum of 8 participants per session is not met, the CMA reserves the right to cancel the session 24 hours after the registration deadline. If the CMA cancels a session refunds will be given or can be moved to another date. 

Illness/Injury

Please do not send your child to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana (CMA) if they are ill.  The museum does not have the capacity to give the specific care that your child may need. If your child becomes ill while at camp you will be notified, and you must pick-up your child at the (CMA).  In case of emergency, the CMA will arrange transport, via 911, to take your child to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Behavior

Expectation and Behavior Guidelines; For CMA Summer Camps to be successfully delivered in a safe environment for learning and play, it is important that campers follow the following basic guidelines/expectations:     

  • Work cooperatively with other children and participate in activities without disrupting others.
  • Follow the instructions of the CMA staff and instructors.      
  • Treat other children and staff with respect.      
  • Respect the property of the CMA.    
  • Remain with the camp group at all times.   
  • No gum chewing is allowed in the Museum.

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana reserves the right to send anyone home or dismiss anyone from the museum’s camp whose behavior becomes unmanageable, disruptive, or endangers the safety and welfare of others.

  • Add discount code if applicable
  • Continue to payment either pay the deposit or pay in full
