Chagall for Children Traveling Exhibit is Traveling to Maine!

Chagall for Children Traveling Exhibit is Traveling to Maine!

Art historian Bella Meyer will deliver a slide presentation about the art of her grandfather, Marc Chagall, on Thursday April 30, 7:00 p.m. in the Hamilton Hall auditorium of the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.  Dr. Meyer's presentation, part of the Flora Plonsky Levy Lecture Series in the Humanities, will be followed by a question-and-answer session.  The event is free and open to the public.  Hamilton Hall is located on the UL campus, on McKinley Street between University and St. Mary.

On Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Bella Meyer will visit the Chagall exhibit at the CMA for stories and conversations with children and their families about the art of her grandfather, Marc Chagall.  Dr. Meyer's visit to the CMA, along with demonstrations by local artists, celebrates the final day of the touring exhibit, "Chagall for Children," developed by the Kohl Children's Museum of greater Chicago, and supported in part by the Women's Association of the Kohl Children's Museum.  The exhibit, closing May 2 at 5:00 p.m., has been on display at the CMA since January 17, 2009.

For more information about these events, you may contact the university office of Dr. Maurice duQuesnay at 337-482-5482, or Deborah Norsworthy at dmnorsworthy@gmail.com, or visit the CMA website.
